The McCain Ethernet module enables any 170 controller to communicate over an ethernet network. The Ethernet module is designed to plug into the modem slot of the 170 controller. Communication to the controller is through the RS232 serial port lines while the RJ-45 connector supports the ethernet interface. The module is auto sensing for either 10Base-T or 100Base-T. The Ethernet module handles the ethernet protocol packet on board relieving the 170 of this task so it only sees the intended message.
