Product Overview
Transparity™ FLASH, a module within McCain’s Transparity™ Software Suite, is an automated system designed to efficiently manage an entire public transportation fleet. This innovative software program provides real-time monitoring of the fleet through the use of multiple positioning technologies including route matching, Global Positioning System (GPS), and dead reckoning techniques that guarantee high location accuracy under all operating conditions. FLASH provides real-time passenger information updates accessible to the public via PDA’s, mobile phones, and the internet. Vast data compilation and off-line analysis tools provide management with the necessary performance statistics and reports to increase public transportation efficiency and reliability.Benefits

Operations Management & Fleet Monitoring
By monitoring the transportation fleet in real-time, FLASH is able to supply up-to-date easy-to-read tabular, graphical, and map-based charts of vehicle locations and time schedules. FLASH also facilitates communication with drivers using both data and voice technologies. This enables fleet managers to act in a timely manner to ensure reliable and on-time fleet operation. When integrated with an ITS control system, FLASH’s monitoring support can generate selective priority requests for bus and rail lines at intersections making adjustments for vehicles that are ahead of or behind schedule.
Data Compilation & Management Reports
FLASH automatically collects and distributes live information on the condition of the transportation fleet. By classifying and storing this information, FLASH is able to run routine reports that allow operators and managers to compare planned routes and time schedules with actual ones enabling them to resolve any discrepancies. By utilizing past trends and historical data, FLASH can provide highly accurate service time estimates using a sophisticated algorithm that identifies characteristics of typical ‘type’ days.
A variety of additional performance statistics and off-line report analysis tools are also available to help regulate services. Proper analysis and application of such tools can increase public transportation service regularity and efficiency.
Real-Time Passenger Information
FLASH’s state-of-the-art integrated system makes it possible to forecast highly accurate arrival times at scheduled stops while the transit fleet is en-route. By making this information available to the public through remote queries, passengers can access current schedule times via their PDA’s, mobile phones, and internet.

Installation
McCain’s software installation team will work with you throughout the entire installation process to ensure optimum performance with your current infrastructure. During the initial consultation a customized time line will be established to provide the framework for the entire installation process. Major phases generally include preparation, configuration, installation, test and commissioning, software training, and final roll out.
