QuicNet 2006
QuicNet 2006 represents the latest evolution of the McCain Advanced Traffic Management System. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) has been completely redesigned based on feedback and suggestions from customers. This new interface is based on the latest Windows design guidelines and focuses on enhancing the user experience while working with QuicNet.
The new GUI is based on a main window with a tab control that allows the operator to load multiple system maps and tabular views of system data. This tabbed interface can be customized by each individual user to meet his particular needs and preferences. The GUI supports both raster and GIS format maps. The GIS support is provided by the industry standard ESRI MapObjects to ensure compatibility with all ESRI Shapefiles and Layers. In addition to system maps, the tab control supports the display of all system components in tabular format. This new interface design helps to reduce the number of windows that need to be opened and managed to view pertinent system information.
While sporting a new interface, QuicNet 2006 retains the core communication engine that has set an industry standard for performance, flexibility, and reliability. This engine supports all types of direct connect serial, wireless, dial up and Ethernet communication. The flexible architecture allows QuicNet 2006 to support virtually any communication infrastructure. Customers can focus on a communication design that is based on project requirements and considerations rather than system limitations.
QuicNet 2006 offers fully integrated support for a wide variety of ATMS applications. In addition to the traffic control application, it supports ramp metering, reversible lane control, detector count stations, NTCIP compliant CMS/DMS sign control, and NTCIP compliant camera control. The modular design allows the customer to expand their system capabilities as their needs arise.
QuicNet 2006 continues to support a wide range of hardware platforms and devices. The hardware platforms include the Model 170 controller, the Model 2070 controller and several versions of McCain NEMA controllers. Support has been added for two next generation 170 controller platforms that have been added to the McCain product line. These two platforms are the ATC-12 and ATC-CF. These two new CPUs can be sold as new 170 controllers or as a CPU upgrade to existing 170E controllers. QuicNet 2006 also provides direct support for other devices such as conflict monitors and preemption devices.
Many other enhancements have been added to the QuicNet 2006 ATMS system. Please contact McCain to arrange a demonstration of this exciting new product.
