170 ATC ColdFire

VISTA, CA-McCain Incorporated is pleased to announce the introduction of our new, powerful 170E controller CPU. This CPU packs more power than a 2070 into your 170E McCain controller and built around the Freescale (Motorola) ColdFire 32-bit microprocessor.

The ColdFire CPU is available as a direct plug-in replacement CPU for previous McCain 170E controllers or as a completely new 170E controller with a menu driven LCD front panel. Our new ColdFire version of the 170E controller offers a versatile industry standard USB 2.0 port. The USB port can be used, for example, to upload or download the intersection timing database, easily transport data from the office to the field and back again, or change the application program.

In addition, the CPU offers more memory than a 2070 controller without the need for an operating system.  It also eliminates the need for an external 412 PROM module also it incorporates all current 2070 (2033) software features and their operator interface.

Other features include: five serial ports, an Ethernet 10/100 port, a 66 MHz CPU clock speed, an onboard temperature sensor, and a front-panel serial communications port.

McCain Announces the Introduction of the
Vandal Resistant Pull-Box Inser
t

VISTA,CA -  As a leading manufacturer and innovator in the traffic and transportation industry,  McCain Incorporated announces the release of their new Vandal Resistant Pull Box Insert (patent pending). This insert is designed to retrofit existing pull boxes in a matter of minutes and in most cases, without tools.  It also can be used for new installations.

The theft of copper wire is occurring across the country at alarming rates.  With the cost of copper up 400% since 2001, thieves are stealing millions of dollars worth every year. These thefts not only cost our taxpayers a lot of money but it is also very dangerous. The removal of existing copper can cause serious safety issues, including but not limited to loss of signals, street lighting, and communications resulting in accidents, traffic delays, and injury.

McCain Incorporated has created a valuable solution with the Vandal Resistant Pull Box Insert. Some people are actually referring to it as the Cable Saver.  Some cities have already taken steps to install the pull box inserts and make them the standard on future projects.

“I am pleased to let you know the City of Pomona has made the McCain Vandal Resistant Pull Box Insert our standard for all future street lighting projects,” said Steve Moore, Public Works Operations Supervisor, City of Pomona, California.  “A very simple product that does what it is supposed to do.  Thanks for the information and the opportunity to see your product first hand.”

The McCain Vandal Resistant Pull Box Insert provides security and safety against unauthorized personnel attempting to enter the pull box. The device is manufactured out of hot dipped galvanized steel to prevent rusting and utilizes off the shelf padlocks furnished by the user. It fits most standard pull boxes and specifications for traffic signals, street lighting, electrical and communication applications. Custom sizes also available.
