The 412F Memory Module meets all applicable
Caltrans specifications. It can be installed in a Model 170E
Controller with a 68HC11 CPU Board by McCain as well as in
all older Model 170 Controllers with a 6800 CPU. The selection
of CPU type is made by a slide switch on the 412F circuit
board.
In addition to holding EPROM, the 412F module brings out all
data lines from the C40 serial connector to a DB9 connector
on its front panel. This more convenient front panel location
and more common connector type simplify access to serial data.
For additional ease of data interfacing, all control lines
can be reassigned within the RS-232 standard via plug-in jumpers
on the 412F circuit board.
