Comprehensive Central ControlQuicNet Pro software can monitor a range of central traffic control and ITS functions including: |
|
| Application | Overview |
| Adaptive Control | Optimizes traffic signal timing and coordination based on prevailing conditions utilizing existing intersection vehicle detectors, resulting in smoother traffic flow. |
| Light Rail Priority | Uses advanced detectors to track trolley location and adjusts intersection timing assuring that the proper phase is in place to let the trolley pass. |
| Incident Management | Detects incidents, automatically notifies the proper authorities, and posts traffic advisory messages on variable messages signs (VMS) to minimize congestion. |
| Freeway Ramp Metering | Minimizes stop-and-go traffic on freeways by breaking up entering vehicles so that individual cars can merge with traffic. |
| Arterial Parallel to Freeway | Initiates a pre-defined timing plan on arterials adjacent to the freeways upon incident detection, reducing the impact of freeway incidents. |
| Tunnel Control | The tunnel management system includes vehicle counting, incident detection, and reversible lane control. Can also be used to activate signs and sound an alarm if an over-height vehicle is detected. |
| HOV Lane Control | Allows the direction of HOV travel to be reversed under time-of-day programming. Lane access is controlled by warning signs, traffic signals and swing gates that prohibit usage. |
| Reversible Lane Control | Assures proper rippling effect for directional lane changes and incorporates a conflict monitor matrix to prevent unsafe programming. Lanes are controlled by red X, yellow X, or green arrow signals hung from gantries as well as by other traffic signs, such as turning restrictions. |
CompatibilityMultiple communication channels simultaneously support Model 170 and 2070 local controller firmware.Communications can be established over dial-up phone, direct-connect copper, fiber optics, spread spectrum radio, microwave, or Ethernet. |
