Arterial Master Control Software for Model 170 Traffic Controllers

OVERVIEW

McCain’s Arterial Master software program is a powerful and fl exible fi eld master application for the Model 170 controller. The Arterial Master software can perform all necessary control and surveillance tasks resulting in the smooth fl ow of arterial traffic on a stand-alone basis, or it can relay status and alarm information to a central surveillance computer. McCain’s evolutionary software programs set the standard for local traffi c control fi rmware and are known around the world for high performance and reliability.

Hardware Independence

In the tradition of McCain’s hardware-independent philosophy, Program 245 works with any 170 controller. The software allows for maximum confi guration flexibility to accommodate virtually any field condition.

Control & Monitoring

Controls and Monitors up to 32 local intersection controllers can be monitored and controlled by each field master on a single 4-wire circuit being used in a closed loop configuration. Can be used in a stand alone mode or in conjunction with a centralized control and surveillance system.

Time-of-Day Scheduler

Time-of-Day Scheduler selects the mode of operation for the intersection controllers that it controls. The time-of-day scheduler can select the mode in which the controllers will operate:

  • Coordinated time-of-day
  • Traffic responsive
  • Uncoordinated (free)
  • Software flash

Holiday Scheduling

The time-of-day scheduler supports different schedules for normal days and holidays. Up to 32 holiday dates and related schedules can be defined.

Performance Data

The field master has the ability to accumulate performance data from user defi ned system detectors for historical analysis as well as to support traffic responsive operation. Volume and occupancy data may be accumulated from up to 32 system detectors that are connected to any combination of intersection controllers.
