McCain Transit Solutions

McCain's public transportation management solution combines computer aided dispatch and highly accurate vehicle tracking with innovative central control software, allowing small to large scale public transit fleets to be effectively managed from a central location. This comprehensive management tool increases on-time arrivals, improves efficiency and reliability, and disseminates live schedules through a wide range of channels, improving service quality; leading to a positive perception of public transportation and increasing ridership.

Accurately Monitor Fleet Location

Monitor real-time vehicle locations through the use of multiple positioning technologies, including planned positions, GPS, and dead reckoning. McCain’s Flash® management software, powered by Mizar Automazione, displays current vehicle information on easy-to-read maps and charts for each bus route.

State-of-the-Art Onboard Communications

Enhance onboard communications with McCain’s two-way voice and data communication unit, the Road Runner. The Road Runner unit is a touch screen display with interfaces and functionalities for effective fleet management. Features such as RFID, odometer interface, navigation, announcement system, passenger counters, even emergency response, can easily be viewed and controlled through the Road Runner’s intuitive GUI.

Efficient Operations Management

Increase on-time fleet operation through open architecture - permitting integration with subsystems such as traffic control systems, allowing the use of transit signal priority or current fleet status and monitoring, enabling operations to immediately resolve discrepancies. Comprehensive features compile, classify, and store fleet data, run routine reports, and analyze trends and historical data identifying typical ‘type’ days to promote service regularity and efficiency.

Real-Time Passenger Information

Keep the public informed of up-to-the-minute time schedules and pertinent information through the use of Variable Message Signs (VMS) at bus stops, the internet, or portable devices such as cell phones.
