SWARCO McCain partners with the Government of the Bahamas, Ministry of Works and Utilities, Nassau, to upgrade their traffic management systems, implementing new features and functionality, improving traffic flow, future-proofing their traffic network, and paving the way for centralized traffic management.
The upgrade includes eighty intersections across the Nassau, Bahamas Island. Conversion and optimization of traffic timing from existing legacy controllers to SWARCO McCain ATC eX® NEMA Controllers with Omni eX® Intersection Control Software pave the way for immediate improvements in traffic flow and detection via Miovision video detection cameras. This solution also facilitates improved controller management via remote cellular communications, enabling future integration of central control software, autonomous adaptive signal timings, and data analysis capabilities.
Intersections now have improved reliability, functionality, and detection, which yield improved traffic flow and provide a foundation for future enhancements, such as SWARCO McCain MyCity TMS1 Software. MyCity TMS collects and analyzes traffic data, manages and optimizes traffic flow, and improves the driving experience while reducing traffic management costs. MyCity TMS has the ability to take traffic operations to the next level. It has a simple, yet powerful means of collecting and displaying information, and provides access to data anytime, anywhere.
