McCain to Provide OPTIPARK PGS to Oceanside, CA - Installation of the OPTIPARK PGS system will commence in the fourth quarter of 2019, incorporating McCain’s full-color Variable Message Signs (VMS), powered by SWARCO technology at the garage entrance and on each level of the facility. In keeping with McCain’s commitment to green technology and efficiency, the VMS signs require only 5% of the power-draw of opposing equipment and use SWARCO’s precision-optic lenses for a display of unprecedented clarity and brightness.
OPTIPARK® PGS Selected for Pleasant Hill, CA Facility - The system will be installed at a parking garage located in one of largest shopping districts in the area, continuing McCain’s expansion into Silicon Valley, an area widely known for its acceptance of innovation. The OPTIPARK system was selected for its accuracy in capturing parking space data through cameras and software and being able to disseminate that information to third parties or through city/vendor apps and websites.
McCain to Unveil Transparity® TDX at ITS Annual Meeting -Transparity TDX enables rapid and secure integration of a multitude of emerging and existing applications including but not limited to connected vehicle data subscriptions, Integrated Corridor Management Systems (ICMS), regional traffic management, parking system events, and multimodal applications such as Transit Priority, Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP), and pedestrian and bike safety. Transparity TDX also provides long term storage of high-resolution event data and performance reporting.
Transparity® TMS to Power Ontario's Provincial Signalized Intersections - The flexibility of Transparity TMS plays perfectly into Ontario’s unique traffic management needs. With approximately 13 million residents, more than a third of Canada’s total population, Ontario covers a land mass 1.5 times the size of Texas. While much of the population is centered around major cities in the GTAH (Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton), Ottawa, and Windsor, the province also includes sparsely populated regions, all of which will be controlled by Transparity TMS.
San Jose Selects McCain to Modernize Downtown Wayfinding System - San Jose currently has a legacy parking system which pushes availability to static signs with LED inserts that display basic alpha-numeric data. Upgrading these signs to McCain’s Variable Message Signs (VMS) opens the door to many new means of communicating with the public. The full-color VMS can display any combination of text, graphics, and images. Best of all, as an established leader in transportation, McCain VMS comply with U.S. traffic communications standards (NTCIP), providing options to integrate parking and variable message signs with traffic and other mobility operations.
San Francisco Selects McCain ATC Cabinets to Upgrade Traffic Signal Infrastructure - McCain won a major three-year contract with the City and County of San Francisco to upgrade traffic control cabinets throughout the city with new Advanced Transportation Controller cabinets (ATC cabinets). San Francisco runs the nation’s 13th largest transportation department, making it the largest user of NEMA cabinets to adopt the ATC cabinet technology to date.
LADOT Opens MyFigueroa Streets Project Using McCain ATC Cabinets. MyFig was designed to create a multimodal, “complete” street that is accessible and safe for all users. The new McCain ATC cabinets provided the project with unprecedented flexibility to add bicycle lights, pedestrian signals and detection as appropriate, helping the city move toward its Mobility Plan 2035 goal of creating a transportation system that balances benefits for all users.
McCain's Smart City Solutions Transform Maui's Transportation Network - The installation at 82 intersections across the island will include McCain’s new FLeX® Controllers running the company’s Omni eX® Intersection Control Software. These intersections will be run remotely by McCain’s Transparity® Traffic Management System (TMS), a cloud-capable software that will communicate using cellular technology to provide traffic managers with critical traffic data in real time.
McCain Contract with LADOT - Largest ATC Cabinet Deployment in History - Cabinets meeting ATC standards increase safety and efficiency allowing for much greater flexibility and modularity than older cabinet types. Over the duration of the agreement, McCain expects to deliver more than 1,500 cabinets, by far the largest ATC cabinet deployment anywhere in the world to date.
McCain Introduced Variable Speed Limit Signs (VSLS) - McCain variable speed limit signs help improve road safety by allowing agencies to adjust the speed limit on roadways in response to current road and traffic conditions, such as heavy traffic or adverse weather conditions. By decreasing the risk associated with driving at speeds higher than appropriate in these types of conditions, VSLS can improve traffic flow and safety, and reduce crash potential by eight to thirty percent.
